Searching for Matches
Last updated on February 11th, 2022
When you sign up for a Muze account, you will be directed to the Matches Page. You will be given a brief tour that you can exit out of at any time going over navigation and features.
All tips included in this guided tour are available in this guide in case you need to reference it again.
The Search Bar
You can enter your location, search radius, and additional filters to narrow your search. All filters can be cleared by selecting “Clear Filters” on the right of the search bar.
To see results near you, type in your location and drag the search radius to how far you want us to look.
- To apply your search by location, you will need to select the “Search” button to the right.
Username or Band Search
If you are already in a band and want to find new people to add to the lineup, you can search for specific users or bands to join:
You can further filter your search by clicking the “More filters” button to the right of the search button:
- Auto matching (Use this option to intelligently find the musician based on your profile answers)
- Instruments Played
- Music Goals
- Genres Played
- Has A Practice Space
In the main area, you can find musicians and bands ranked in order of how well our algorithm believes you will work with them.
The current Match page will show 26 musicians and bands at a time. You can navigate to the next page of results with the arrows near the top right portion of the screen.
Clicking on the username of the user opens the Profile Details of that user in a new page.
On their details page, you can:
- Send an invitation to create a band with that user
- Block or unblock a user. Blocked users will no longer show up as a match and you will not be able to send each other messages.
After starting a band – whether on or off the platform – users can search for other musicians to fill in any vacancies to their band’s lineup.
- With Muze, we take everyone in your bands’ unique personality to find someone who will add appropriately to your dynamic.
If you click on a band’s vacancy, it will show similar to a dashboard what that band is looking to fill in. From there you can start a group message with the other members of the band or view each member’s profile.
Tip: To see better results, take the time to make a good profile. Make sure you add a good profile picture, upload media of yourself, show off your tastes and style, outline expectations, and describe what makes you “you!”
